What Is VCT Strip and Wax?

Vinyl Composition Tile (VCT) strip and wax is a deep restoration process that removes old, worn floor finish and replaces it with fresh, durable coats of wax.

Over time, VCT floors collect dirt, discoloration, and buildup that regular cleaning can’t fix. Stripping and waxing resets the floor back to a clean, glossy, like‑new appearance while protecting it from future wear.

How Our Process Works

1. Preparation

All furniture and obstacles are moved, and safety signage is placed to keep the area clear during the service.

2. Stripping the Old Finish

A commercial-grade stripping solution is applied to break down the existing wax layers. After proper dwell time, a floor machine with abrasive pads scrubs away the old finish, dirt, and embedded grime.

3. Neutralizing & Cleaning

The floor is thoroughly rinsed with a neutral cleaner to remove chemical residue. This ensures the new wax bonds properly and evenly.

4. Drying

The floor is allowed to dry completely before any finish is applied.

5. Waxing (Finishing)

Multiple coats of high-quality floor finish (typically 3–5) are applied. Each coat dries before the next is added, building a strong, glossy protective layer.

6. Buffing (Optional)

For extra shine and smoothness, the floor can be buffed or burnished using a high-speed machine.
